TEDCO Rural Business Innovation Initiative (RBI2)
Upper & Mid Shore Region Business Mentor

General Scope:
The Business mentor provides on-going mentoring to small technology based companies in the Upper/Mid Shore region.  The mentor works directly with local economic development offices (Queen Anne’s, Kent County, Talbot and Caroline County) and business related enterprises in providing services to companies.  Client companies receive business and technical assistance to advance the company to the next level of growth.  Mentor will represent TEDCO at select events and meetings in the region.  Mentor is required to participate in planning regional events. Perform other duties related to the RBI² program and Upper & Mid Shore region as directed by TEDCO.

Position is part-time 16-20 hours a week maximum.  Must have flexible schedule to accommodate client needs.  Salary is $40/hour and is contractual.

Ideal candidate is a successful entrepreneur, worked for start-up tech companies, or industry executive.  Must be able to assess business and technical needs and work with client to solve business and technical issues.  Prefer someone is familiar with the economic development offices and business related services. Knowledge of the region’s economic climate a plus. Resident of the region or close proximity is required.
